blah and turkey
Well it looks like a pretty uneventful day, with mediocre surf on most coats. Hopefully everyone is getting geared up eat turkey next week. I have to admit though, when I was looking at the long-range projections today I was pretty disappointed. The past 5 years, I've been able to score decent surf during the annual Thanksgiving Day swell that has yet to disappoint... well, until this year. It looks like I might be shredding more dark meat then, meaty waves.

november vacation
How many of you are wishing you planned that trip to Costa Rica this week? They're getting some pretty nice surf down there. Check out www.surfingnosara.com if you feel like making yourself a little jealous. everywhere else is pretty blah. California is seeing some fun little surf, but nothing super exciting given the incoming storm system, and the East Coast is probably all surfed out after the past week.
Let me know how it is in your neck of the woods... I'd love to hear some stories.

how many of your friends have you told?!
Reports are up and ready! Come and get 'em! A quick synopsis, East Coast is getting rocked, and it looks like it could be an epic weekend. Beautiful skies in California means clean fun surf. The winds have turned and Central America is seeing some clean fun surf as well. Hawaii is in for a big one in the next couple of days...
Where are you going to surf this weekend?

the end of evening surf...
Yes, that's right for most of you the time change means no more after work sessions, but the plus side is... the winds are better in the mornings for the most part. So get yourself out of bed a couple hours early this week and grab some surf! California could see a couple more pulses of NW swell in the next week or two. Hawaii is in for a nice one soon as well. Hopefully the East Coast can clean up a bit, conditions out there could be a bit on the chunky side, with all the northerly winds. Other than that if you're down in Central America in the next couple of weeks, its mainly background swell, but offshore winds have started to pick up.
If anyone is interested in going to Costa Rica let me know. I'll put you in touch with the guys down at www.surfingnosara.com. They'll take care of you, and make sure you have a successful trip. Check out my report on their site as well, might help with your decision making.

(deep breath)
So who scored some waves this week? I know I did... If you haven't yet and you live in California you better get on that, because the winds are expected to pick up next week, and it could get a bit rough. The Northeast US is in for a treat the next couple of days too. Let me know how it was in your neck of the woods.

Memorial and Memorable
Rest in Peace Andy Irons. This is a huge loss to the surf community, and a sad day for many. My heart goes out to his wife and unborn child, as well as the rest of his friends and family. Northern Hemisphere swell fills in as a tribute to a great surfer and competitor.

Tuesday's the Day!
Get your camera's ready, because this is going to be an event you're going to want to document. The SE PAPA buoy about 600 NM off the coast of California is already measuring swell height around 33 feet, and periods ranging from 17 to 21 seconds. Hawaii is preparing to get hit hard too, with the North facing shores already preparing for advisory level+ surf. If you do get out and take some picture of the XXL surf send me some shots, I'd love to see how you experienced this.
